We Stayed There InSEPT. OF 2005. The Place WAS NOT BUSY. THE POOL HAD _______ droppings _____ON THE DECK AN THE LIZZARDS ARE RUNNING AROUND IN AND OUT OF OUR SHOES.. WE WANTED TO TAKE THE SHUTTLE(GOLF CART) TO THE BEACH . IT WAS TERMINALY BROKE... The hotel staff used it to sit and have a smoke ... THIS PLACE IS A CAMPERS DELIGHT, COLLEGE CRASHER, SPRING BREAKER KIND OF PLACE ... WHAT YOU G... [more]ET. IS VERY DARK WHEN YOU ARRIVE (not like the pictures). HOOTERS, PIZZA PLACE , LITTLE STRIP OF RESTURANTS RIGHT NEXT DOOR. BUS STOP RIGHT OUTSIDE TO THE LEFT AND ACROSS THE STREET. EVEN FOUND DUNKIN DOUGHNUT COFFEE PLACES. GROCERY/DRUG STORE . LOCATION IS THE ONLY GOOD THING. WALKING TO BEACH ...aprox. 24 FT WIDE PATH with BEER BOTTLE AND ITEMS NOT CLEANED UP AN REGULAR BASIS. BEACH HAS DOCKS WHICH HAVE BAR ON END...they play music all day.. BOAT LAUNCH THERE. GET CHAIRS AT MARCELS ... CAN GO AND TOUR THROUGH THEM. If you can... bring you own towl so YOU DONT HAVE TO BOTHER THE HOTEL STAFF. Also bring duct tape TO STOP RATTLING TO GET A NIGHTS SLEEP... LOVED THE SUN ANYWAY.It could be a nicer place to stay. HOLIDAY INN WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE... SWEET. [less]

The front desk service was excellent. When my reservation at another nearby resort was lost due to a snafu with an online travel booking, Brickell Bay picked up the slack and offered me a room. The night manager was a very helpful and gracious host, and the reservations manager was very flexible about allowing me to extend my stay by one night.

I was in Aruba on business during the ... [more]peak vacation season, so trying to find affordable lodging was difficult. The Brickell Bay Beach Club afforded a very nice option in the middle of the high-rise resort area by providing clean, adequate rooms at an affordable price. You may find that the rooms are not super-luxurious resort style rooms; instead, they are more akin to a Holiday Inn in the States. But what you may lose in luxury you more than make up in convenience.

Free wi-fi internet access in the lobby, convenient access to nearby shops and very nice restaurants (the Hostaria di Vittorio was excellent) was a great addition, as well as a one-block walk to the beach, the casino across the street at Allegro, and a pool bar with a tender who was not afraid to keep the drinks strong.

There is some construction going at the hotel (actually adjacent to the main building) that is only during daylight hours and is not a nuisance to guests. This may be part of the reason why the hotel rates are as low as they are.

Basically, if you are just looking for a clean bed with a shower and towels, so that you can spend the bulk of your time out and about either working or enjoying Aruba (isn't that why you are there), then the Brickell Bay Beach Club offers a very nice alternative to the resort hotels so that you have a place to stay in the middle of all the action. Only one towel in our room on arrival. Took 2 days to have our room serviced. No ammenities: blow dryer, telephone that worked, vending machines. Limited front desk staff so service was slow. Rooms were very musty. Had a very nice pool area. Nice dining all around the hotel.
