User reviews for Hamaca Coral By Hilton All Inclusive
By All-Caribbean User from New York, NY • A 5 Star Hilton No WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Overall Rating: 4 Location [4] • Room [2] • Service [2] • Value [4] The Cons: How can a corporation such as Hilton brand its name for a fee to Coral and let Coral run the hotrel? Basically Coral is a corporation that is in business to maximize its profits and cut its costs. Thats why the food is absolutetly Horrible! Their is virtually no service at all if you try calling you get transfered to a voice mail or hung up on.
The rooms are large make sure you ge... [more]t an ocean view but defiantely not the cleanest. They charge like $6 a minute for phone calls for the week
HILTON NEEDS TO STEP IN AND DO SOME QUALITY CONTROL OF THIS RESORT!
The beach is absolutely unbelievable and it has sooo much potential but needs to be managed and owned directly by Hilton. If not this Hotel will continue damiging the Hilton Brand Name! [less]

Overall Rating: 8 Location [8] • Room [8] • Service [10] • Value [8] I thought the Hamaca Coral by Hilton was nice and we enjoyed our trip.
I would recommend this hotel people looking to sit on the beach and relax, or families with younger children. For more active individuals, I would recommend this hotel for about 3-4 days at the most, then I would suggest transfering to another Coral for a change of scenery.
Things I liked:
-Service... [more]: The staff was exceptional. Always friendly and helpful.
-The beach. Nice protected area, great for kids. Wonderful beach activities (the Chocolate Friends) included aerobics, windsurfing, sailing, volleyball, beach games, dancing lessons. Nice bar near the beach and a small pool.
-Location: the hotel is only about 15 minutes from the main Santa Domingo airport--taxi only cost $20-$25 US dollars each way. Also, we were able to go into Santa Domingo for activities without an extensive drive.
-Security and cleanliness: There was adequate security, included posted guards thoughout the complex at night and there were very few locals on the complex. There was always staff cleaning the grounds and our room service was adequate.
-Spa: we got several massages and thought they were well worth the price!
Things that could be improved:
-We stayed for a week and got tired of the food towards the end of our stay. In particular, the beach food was the same every day.
-We felt there were quite a few "additional" expenses: the lock rental for the room safe ($3 per night and you had to get it for the entire time you were there); we lost a wrist band while windsurfing and were charged $15 to replace it; internet access was available, but of course at an extra charge of $5 per half hour or $8 per hour; to charge to use the phone from our room was very expensive, however there was only one pay phone which was located in the main lobby and there was always a line.
-We felt we were being hounded to spend more money. Mostly for the banana boat rides and snorkling, but also the vendors that are allowed on the complex were very aggresive and also very expensive. We had to walk past them every time we went between our room and the restaurants or beach and got really sick of it.
-There is a game called Progressive Roulette in the casino. It is not run by the casino, but is rented space and is not subject to any rules. It is a known scam and would certainly ruin any vacation since there is no way to win and the stakes get very high quickly. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME!! [less]

The service was good to many people helped you out in many things. They're were many activities to do and keep yourself entertained. They also had a club that was great to enjoy your night. I don't think that the pools were that full of people, and if you go to a pool you don't go to be quite you go to have fun so y... [more]ou have to make noise. [less]
