User reviews for Legends Hotel
By Adrian & Carolyn Perkins from New Brunswick, Canada • It was just fair
Overall Rating: 3 Location [7] • Value [5] | Beach was awesome | | not to Legends again |
January 2006-- Our 1st time to this part of Caribbean. Beach was awesome & not overly crowded, had no problem there. The hotel itself was even passable in respect to the price, our maid Chiquita was a doll & very friendly & helpful. The food was so monotonous, I personally do not care to have calalloo for breakfast, lunch & dinner, every day. We also did not find the dining room staff very friendl... [more]y, we tip very well when we receive good service, but absolutely did not receive it. Anthony was a gentleman & he was rewarded like one. Also O'Neil Security Guard was very pleasant, had no problem.
Would we return to Jamaica? Definitely would but not to Legends. Actually planning a trip back to Negril January 2007, but not to Legends. I would not recommend this hotel if you want friendly service, we are the reason these people have jobs, maybe they should stop & think about that. [less]

Overall Rating: 1 | Don't Believe The Pictures!! |
1. Girls room was broken into during night. We think owner maybe have been invovled. Passports, cameras, sunglasses and iPods were taken.
2. Staff did nothing to help, did not want to call the police, did not offer an apology.
3. Owner argued with girls about cancelling their credit cards...since he somehow knew they would be found later....which they were, with the... [more] passports.....but nothing else.
4. We moved 2 days later, and owner REFUSED to give us any money back...so we told everyone there about the situation....and 4 people ended up checking out....for their own safety. Owner then fought with us, in front of other customers.
5. Food was pretty bad, and not many choices...Do not do all inclusive....drinks took forever to get....and it seemed like it pained the staff to get us something when we asked.
6. No towels. Small beach due to hurricane, don't believe pictures. Pool is DIRTY, and only has like 2 chairs. [less]

Overall Rating: 1 Location [1] • Room [1] • Service [1] • Value [1] | sub par accomodations and ammenities, not worth your money |
My friends were robbed while they were sleeping at night. The staff was not helpful and the owner was obviously not aware that when owning a hotel you should actually care about your customers. He argued with us and actually reprimanded us and "sent us to our room". We left as soon as we could, but please note that the owner charged us for all 7 nights, he would not give us our money ... [more]back.
Even if the robbery had not happened, the hotel is by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in...this coming from someone who backpacked through Europe staying at some sketchy hostels and budget hotels.
The internet pictures look great, but don't be fooled. The pictures are outdated. The hotel was damaged by a hurricane a few years ago and the beach is barely there and it does not nearly look like it does online.
We did the all inclusive which was only partially inclusive and what it did include was the pits...very few food choices at meals, limited selection on drinks and the drinks that you do get are very watered down.
There are plenty other hotels on this same strip that are the same price that offer security, real food and some amenities. This hotel may claim to be budget but in truth it is actually a hotel that rips people off who are on a budget. [less]
