What a blast! Can't wait to go back. No bad allllll good. What more can a person ask for for around $1000 CDN. I am a true beach bum and have been to Aruba many times, Jamaica, Bahamas, DR (Puerto Plata) and lots of other places and not much else compares. Truly. I hope any traveller can appreciate the true, honest beauty of an AI resort (hopefully 4* or better) in the DR. I'll be back. Cheers!

I loved the Sunscape Grand! I just returned from a week in Punta Cana, it was an experience I will never forget.
The weather was a little rainy but it didn't make a difference. There were always things to do. The staff was amazing, especially the activities team, never a dull moment.
The resort is beautiful, right on the beach. Everything was very clean and well kept. The night life at the resort was fun, lots of activities and people to meet. Everyone, both staff and guests were friendly and talkative.
I can't wait to go back!

Just returned from at week stay from 5/1/05 to 5/8/05. This was a very professional resort. It was very clean and the staff was the best. They do everything possible to make your stay the best time ever.There is always something going on that you can participate in and there was entertainment at night. The weather was the best. Every morning the seaweed had washed up on shore but they had this all racked up by the time the people got out there in the morning. Once again, i can't say enough about the staff. They were great

If you expect the Ritz-Carlton, PAY for the Ritz-Carlton. Dollar for Dollar this was one of the nicest vacations I have ever had. The room was clean, the mini-bar stocked, the resort was clean, the people who worked on the resort were nice, attentive and helpful - - although spending some $$ on these people helps with that, and the beach was nice.
To all who said the beach was full of seaweed, i think your forgetting that this resort sits on an ocean and there is seaweed in the ocean. The workers on the resort do a great job of cleaning it off. If you want a beach with no seaweed, i suggest Lake Michigan.
I would highly recomend staying at this hotel. Just remember you are in a third-world country, so its not gonna be the ritz carlton, but i give props to the dominican people for trying VERY HARD.

We had a 2 week stay at this resort, we left after are 1st week because of getting sick from the food and water. The beaches were very dirty w/trash and plastic bottles washing up from the ocean. The resteraunt food was poor and the drinks were at poor quality. Damage from the hurricanes was not yet fixed when we arrived but were told prior to us leaving that it was.Many cabanas were ruined by the hurricane and so were the motels and parts of the resteraunts. I can honestly say that my wife and i will not return to this area until they meet what they offer vacationers. The only thing good about are stay was the weather. What a waste of are money and time.Maybe we will stay in the Great USA for awhile. My advice would be to do your homework before traveling out of the USA.

I had the time of my life. If you like cookies, you will live Sunscape. The staff is amazing. You will love Rico. This is plenty of choices of what to eat. The horseback riding lovely. I just didn't want to leave.

We have been to Sunscape twice; once in 2002 and again in 2003. The hotel needs to be updated, since it is starting to appear tired. The nightlife is poor to none. The good news is the staff does try hard.

It's been about 2 years since my wife and I visited this fine hotel/resort, but it's the one place we have been looking forward to returning to. We have recommended it to several friends, they went, and agree that it is paradise. The bus ride over is a little shaky, but one can expect that in a foreign country. We recommend the mountain excursion, and to regularly consult your travel agent if based in the hotel. (we used apple, was great!) Once the bus ride to the hotel is finished, one of the best vacations awaits you. GO!

Thought we would have a nice quiet vacation. It turned out to be a vacation filled with slamming doors,kids running up and down the halls, at all hours of the night. Food was good, but beach was filled with seaweed, even though they tried to keep it clean. Would not go back.
