Grand Lido Negril had the best service, hands down!

My fiance and I decided to have our wedding and honeymoon in Jamaica instead of a traditional church wedding. My parents and sister, and his parents went with us to Jamaica and we all agree that Grand Lido Negril was one of the most beautiful experiences we have ever had!

This was my husband and mother-in-laws' first trip out of the country, so it was an incredible experience for them. However, the rest of us had been to other tropical destinations and have stayed in many other resorts before. I can say that honestly, Grand Lido Negril had the best service, hands down! If you are looking to be treated like royalty, then this is your place! There was a lady that worked there by the name of Natalie, that catered to our every need. From our arrival, to the wedding, to taking care of my husband and me after our parents left! If you visit GLN then you definitely need to look her up!

There are so many fun things to do there and the weather was absolutely incredible! It was wonderful to be in a bathing suit in the middle of December! All in all, this resort was breathtaking in every respect and we can not wait to visit again!

GOOD NEWS/ BAD NEWS: Good news, the staff was excellent ,social directors are the best I have ever seen!! The food was very good in all the restaurants. The property itself was impressive but is starting to show its age.The beach was well maintained and stocked with clean towels,chairs... The pools also were in great shape.The bars were clean and well stocked (not top shelf)The theme party's were well thought out and fun!!BAD NEWS:The hotel rooms are a JOKE clean but falling apart,exploding shower heads cheap furniture and cheaper mattress's and worst of all the pillows reeked(trust me bring your own)C/d players that K-MART would be embarresed to sell...Rooms 1007 and 1002 are a mess 1002 had it's chandler hanging by the it's electrical wiring.The interesting thing is when you complain 2 or 3 people come over,everybody takes notes,and then nothing happens.Another fascinating feature are the hotel room doors ,they seem to about 1/2 inch short on the bottom which makes it very convenient for anthing crawling on by to stop in and just say hi! To be fair I did talk to the property G.M and he told me that these issues would be addressed and that they would upgrade me on my next visit.My advice is if you decide to stay here ,try to get a discount and go for the cheapest room you can find.AND GOOD LUCK!!!

Treated first class all the way! First we were picked up at Montego Bay airport by the "Lidosine" and transported the 1 hour and 20 minutes to the Resort.

We arrived at Grand Lido about 1 pm (they are on central time). Since our room wasn't ready yet, we had to spend our time waiting at the noon buffet. This is the best buffet we have ever ate at. Everything was fresh and wonderful. As soon as we sat down, a waiter came over, put our cloth napkins in our laps and took our drink order, and filled our water glasses. The buffet had a good selection of salads, meat entries, customed made to order sandwiches, and desserts.

When our room was ready, one of the guest services coordinators personally escorted us to our room, pointing out the resort amenities along the way. The room was air conditioned and pretty nice. Our luggage was delivered shorty and we headed to the beach.

All non-motorized sports were included and we did much sailing on the hoby cats. Once you walk down by the sail boats, someone always comes down to assist you. They pull the boat into the water and steady it while your party embarks.

Our only disappointment was that the M/Y Zein yaucht was not available during our visit. Everyone was very friendly and always helpful. Very relaxing and wonderful vacation. Be sure to bring the Sun Block!

We will go again in the future!

The staff treated you like kings and queens from the moment you arrive. What better way to be greeted than with a cold towel and a glass of champagne? The service, location, cleanliness, and value are hard to beat. My husband proposed to me while we were vacationing there in March 2003. What could be more romantic?

My only complaint was there was a shortage of vanilla ice cream. LOL! We loved our stay! The staff was the right balance of helpful and punctual. There was a better selection of alcohol than what we had at Sandals. There were just enough activities to keep you involved without being too pushy. The room was great, when we actually used it.

I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I went on our honeymoon and it was truly the best time of our lives! When we first arrived...they sat us down and treated us to a nice Jamaican drink!! The are so friendly there! We had endless amount of fun! My husband is very active and I am more laid back! However, we both received what we wanted! He was certified in scuba while I laid on the beach! It was so perfect! The music, the drinks, the people....o what a memory! I suggest everyone go there if you are stressed out! Jamaica takes your cares away! We are going back for our 5 year anniversary!

The employees there were great. Granted you knew that if they ticked you off, there would be a hundred waiting to take his/her place. The diving was good, I saw a lot of oceanlife (especially on the night dive) but the topography left a bit to be desired. Nothing better than ordering a burger and a beer at 2:30 in the morning. The guy walked in and put the plate right in my hand. I'm planning a trip back there right now!

My only knock is the nude area. It seems the people who should be least inclined to nudity are buck naked all over the place. It wasn't pretty, but the rest of the resort was wonderful. I still receive little e-mails to this day thanking me and wishing that I return. They actually sent a condolence e-mail in the wake of 9/11. The service was wonderful, the food excellent, and the water was breathtaking!!

We celebrated our honeymoon at the Grand Lido Negril (10/27 through 10/31/04)and it was very nice and laid back. The staff was very pleasant, responsive and easy going. If I could, I would go back today and sip those fruity drinks and lay out on the beach. It's the best adult resort in Negril.... You will not be disappointed.
