We found the whole experience fantastic

We have just returned from Club ambiance, runaway bay, Jamaica. We found the whole experience fantastic. The rooms are bright and very clean and are cleaned every day. You'll find the staff from the clearners to management are always only to happy to help you any way they can. The food in club ambiance was repetative but very tasty. We were married there and everyone made our wedding day perfect. We had a brilliant time and couldn't fault the holiday at all. We loved it.

wish they'd provide more authentic Jamaican food

I wouldn't come here expecting 5 Star luxury. The room was fine, but the air-conditioning was very noisy and old. The food was poor for a Jamaican hotel with some bizarre selections and mixtures. More real Jamaican food would have been nice. I think they catered more for those who like bland food rather than the delicious spicy Jamaican foods we are used to when we visit Jamaica.

Having said that there are some aspects of Club Ambiance that made it one of our best holidays. The staff are wonderful and very friendly indeed, The Maid, Reception staff, waiters and bar staff, this seemed to have a knock on effect and all the guests were also very friendly.

The entertainment was 1st class and the resident 'Reggae' band were superb.

The location is also lovely with all rooms overlooking the sea. Ocho Rios is a short Taxi or Bus ride.

So overall I would recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Jamaica but wish they would provide more Jamaican food then it would be even better.

There was little to dislike about Club Ambiance! The people are amazing, friendly, helpful and accomodating. The food is delicious...all you can stand to drink from sun up to sun down...great entertainment every night and daily excursions to places like Dunns River Falls and Ocho Rios for shopping.

The rooms are comfortable,spacious and clean. The only complaint I have are the showers! We deemed them "spit showers" due to lack of water pressure and there isnt an abundance of hot water. But other than that its a great resort for a great vacation.

What was also nice is that it isnt in a largely touristy area so you really get alot of Jamaican culture and flavor which is awesome.

The Bad:
Upon our arrival my fiancé and I were informed by the clerk they had good news and bad news for us. The bad news was our standard room was not available; but we would be upgraded to a Honeymoon suite for one night & we would have to move to a standard room the next day. We understood our room not being ready; but what was not acceptable was switching rooms the next day or paying for the Honeymoon suite for the duration of our visit due to their inability to provide our accommodations upon our arrival.

We requested to speak with Mr. Gilbert, the general manager who indicated his boss/owner would not acknowledge our dissatisfaction with the above matter and stated if we choose to remain in the honeymoon suite, we would be charged an additional $240.00. After traveling for over 12 hours, our primary goal was to get our room, get settled and began our vacation. Having said that, we decided once in the room, we were not going to move.

Several days later we spoke to our Expedia representative Naudia, who spoke with management and after her intervention, they agreed to reduce the charge to $120.00.

We are world wide travelers and have frequent Jamaica twice a year since 1998. We encountered a similar situation at (Renaissance Jamaica Grande) in 2002 now Sunset Jamaica Grande whereby our deluxe room was not available and we were upgraded to a Jr. Suite at no additional charge. As a result of the customer service and the resort itself we referred many of our clients to this property.

The Good:
The staff members of Club Ambiance are outstanding. I would like to mention them by name and thank them for making an unpleasant beginning to an unforgettable ending.

Lorraine at the front desk always had a pleasant smile and willing to
accommodate my request.

Sharon the restaurant manager was always visible assuring the guest were enjoying their meals.

Chefs: Mama, Huntley, Roderick, Orville provided the best Cuisine the
pallet could ever imagine.

Waiters: Lalanya, Finona, Oralndo, Christopher, Milton are professional, friendly and yet attentive to your request without ever neglecting other guest.

Bar tenders: Rayan makes a fabulous drink named (Estress)
Alwayn specializes in a drink called (Rum Bam Buzie)
Barnswell (Barney) has good drinks and a wealth of Jamaican history.

Entertainment: Lamica was high energy, enthusiastic and provided fun
entertainment for the guest as we remained inside the resort due to some rainy days

Housekeeping: Deann kept our room spotless.

Aesthetics: The resort has an excellent layout affording all the rooms an ocean view. However, this resort is dated and could use an overall makeover.

It is with much regret our rating of Club Ambiance could not receive what could have been an outstanding rating; but due to our initial encounter, our first few days left us feeling very angry, disturbed and frustrated. Would we return to Club Ambiance? Would we recommend this resort?
The verdict is still out.

My best friend and I stayed at CA in March 05 for 8 days/7nights. We had so much fun. The staff was friendly, the food was tasty, the hotel was neat and clean, and the atmoshphere was tranquil. The bars were serving the "get your head right" drinks. The club located on the premises kept us dancing all night long. The thing I enjoyed the most was the "no children allowed" policy. You must be 18+. CA also has an exercising room with all the equipment you need to burn off those extra pounds you gain from the delicious food being served. I have been to Jamaica 3 times. I enjoyed myself the most at CA. I plan to go back and recommend it to my family and friends.

We came here for thanksgiving, the price was right. The bus ride was 2 1/2 hours, which is a long ride in Jamaica. They stopped once on the way to get a drink and stretch your tired legs. When i travel to the carribbean i always go all inclusive. This includes meals and drinks. You don't get the top brands of liquor at certain resorts, unless you are the rich i guess. I prefer blender drinks, no big deal to me. This place has a small beach. Room are clean and nice, love my coffeepot in the mornings. Nite life wasnt the greatest. Go Go Bar next door, we visited, nothing like the ones in the States. There is nothing around this resort, you would have to taxi to go anywhere.

We fell in love with Club Ambiance the minute we arrived. We were greeted by a great staff, the food was excellent. It is inexpensive, yet beautiful and romantic. The night life was great (entertainment was great) Beautiful view, great ambiance. Will definetly go back within 1 year. We needed this vacation and we are very happy that it was there. We have recommended it to our friends and hoping to get a group there also.
Club Ambiance is a place for love, play and lots of fun.

I have been to Club Ambiance 3 times and each time I fall more and more in love with the place! We were there Feb '04, Feb '05 and I went back with a friend in April '05. I can't wait to return! When you arrive at CA, you are greeted by a nice front desk staff and a nice tropical drink! You are shown to your room (We have always booked a Honeymoon Suite, they are great!), once in your room you are free to lounge on your balcony or patio or cruise down to the bar and have a nice rum drink or a cold Red Strip Beer. The beach is nice..small..but nice..it's very clean and well kept. The food is great..we have never gone hungry..and have always gained a couple pounds on vacation at CA!! The staff is unbelievable..they are there to make you smile! I feel as though I have made great friends at CA..we will definately return..hopefully soon rather than later! I loved staying at this all-inclusive resort! It was beautiful, relaxing, and the staff was amazing. The food and drinks were great and the entertainment always made us smile. It was not as large as some AI's which made it cozier feeling. It would be a great place to relax and have a good time!

My husband and I visted Club Ambiance in August of 04. We loved it and will definatly return. The food was great every day with a wonderful asortment. The staff was very friendly. And the resort was beutiful and clean. We stayed for a week, never left the resort and had an excelent time.

	Hot water system, noisy entertainment at night

Took my wife to Club Ambiance (CA), in Jamaica for 7 days in February, 2005. A couple of years back we spent a week at Grand Lido Braco which is regarded as a five star resort, and the overall experience at CA was more enjoyable than we had at Grand Lido Braco.

First: This is a 3 star resort, do not expect luxury. It is clean, neat and serviceable in attending to your needs. However, the beach is small, do not expect to take long walks on the beach at night. Nevertheless, the staff, food, drink, friendliness and convenience of a small resort make this an outstanding value. After a couple of days we felt like we were among old friends. Views from the rooms are outstanding, but the noise from nightly entertainment can be distracting if you retire early.

If you want a lot of bang for your buck, give CA a try, I went hoping and praying it would not be a bust, and came back raving about the place to my friends. My wife and I will definately return along with the majority of people who visit there.

My boyfriend and I stayed here. All of the people are very friendly and there are plenty of activities to keep you busy. There is a tour guide always available and anyone who goes will have a blast!

It was our honeymoon and we wanted someplace quiet and not too crowded. Club Ambiance was just that. They people there are awesome. If you go, look for Nine Feet and Oneal for entertainment, Leonard or Leon in Dining, and Barrington at the bar. They really went above and beyond the job. The beach wasn't particularily nice, but many people snorkled and I did see some pretty fish just wading in the water. If you go, be sure to see Dunn's River Falls. It rocked! It was so beautiful. Be sure to bring some good water shoes for the climb, and be careful in the shop area. They are really hustling out there. And there is a nice beach there. It is only a 30-35 minutes away from the hotel, which was important to us. Also if you want to have a romantic walk in a secluded place, go to the Cranbrook Flower Forest. It also has an area where you can swim in the river. Look for hummingbirds! I would really recommend this resort to anyone who wants a more "Jamaican" atmosphere and wants to stay away from a mega-resort. The people and the food is great and it is so much more personal there.
