Marien Coral By Hilton All Inclusive

I loved everything about this place except for one thing; everything shuts down from about 5:30 until 8:30. There basically aren't ANY activities after about 7pm except the shows at 8:30pm. You can't swim after 7pm. That was the biggest negative for me. Our group thought that being at/in the pool at night would have been nice.

I loved everything else. The rooms were just as pictured on the website. Very nice and very clean with good housekeeping service. The grounds are meticulous and are just as shown on the website also. The Dominicans working at the resort are very helpful and nice.

Don't bother wearing pants or bringing a sweatshirt. You won't need either except maybe while on the airplane or at the airports on the way. The weather is great!
Wear mosquito repellant though.

The shows were amazing. The Chocolate Friends are very talented and I loved the props on stage and the backdrops. Pretty impressive.

Though there are natives on the beach trying to sell things, if you're not interested, just firmly say no and they will leave you alone. They're just trying to make a living. They're nice people.

Overall, this was a wonderful experience and a very nice, clean and well-kept resort.

the hotel is amazing! the surroundings are beautiful! the staff so helpful, theres a 24hour doctor on site and food is fantastic! i could not fault the resort in anyway,shape or form! the rooms are clean and are a lovely size. the gardening was done everyday to perfection. entertainment staff were fantastic....the amazing 'Chocolate Friends'= Orlando,Chicken legs, Jorge,and Grace to name a few!
Do as many excursions as you can- well worth it- 'monster trucks' takes you to the jungle and through the rivers!'tour of puerto plata'-taste the rum from the factory, experience the markets! 'bar crawl'- amazing such a laugh-especially the 'carwash' bar...they were all fantastic- we did about 8 excursions!!
This was our first time to the dominican-when we go back we're staying in no other place but the Marien Coral!!

The people are lovely,the hotel is beautiful, the pool is the biggest pool i have ever seen. The food is absolutly fantastic, and i never got a dodgy tummy which i usually do when i'm abroad! i'ts very romantic for couples but if your not a couple its still great. The kids had a great time with the kids club. I would recomend the coral marien to everyone its fab!

This was the second time my husband and I have been to the Marien Coral in Puerto Plata. This time, we brought our two sons (13 and 10). They loved being at the hotel with the all inclusive. They made friends with other children their age and with the Chocolate Friends. My family and I truly enjoyed the food. My sons ate more at the Marien than they ever eat at home in NY. They were never bored! The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The service was friendly. This time we stayed closer to the pool which worked out better for us because our children liked the pool more than the ocean and they could come and go to the room very easily and we were closer to everything.

Our family went on a safari ride, bus trip and a quad ride. All were terrific.

The nightlife was great. My husband and I went to all the shows. My sons went to most of them. The Chocolate Friends are very talented. They work so hard. Afterwards, we went to the disco and danced the rest of the night. The Chocolate friends (Orlando, Francis, Miguel, Grace and the rest of the friends) were very friendly and lots of fun. I definitely want to go back again and hope to plan a trip there soon.

This Hilton Hotel really knows what travelers want. From the cabana-like registration desk to the private pristine beaches--this hotel delivered the goods. It was all-inclusive and we wanted for nothing. The bottomless glasses were filled as readily as your first and the "chocolate friends"(the name of the entertainment troupe)kept the part moving. From lazy days by the pool to a leisurely stroll by the turquoise waters-we truly enjoyed our stay!

I've been to this resort about six times in the past three years and I absolutely love it. I don't recommend to stay in any other hotel in the north side of Dominican Republic. I am from New York City and I need a vaca once or twice a year and this is where I stay and will continue. Love EVERTHING.. food, service, spa, beach is nice, but the rooms are really nice kept and worth the price.

Coral Marien was an excellent place to spend my vacation. It was worth the money I spent. My family and I stayed for six nights and enjoyed everything. The food was good, I highly recomend the ribs at the Santa Fe Grill. The Chocolate Friends were very fun with all their games and entertainment. Our kids probably enjoyed it the most. The only small complaint was the Kids Club, there was not much adult supervision. Also there will be vacation club guys outside the buffet who try to get you to join, it will take about an hour if you go, and it costs abou $8000. Much like a timeshare.
Overall we loved it.....ask for "extra viejo" rum with your daquiri, it's stronger and has a better taste.

My family and I just returned from This resort and I would say that this is the most impressive resort on the north side of the island . It lacked nothing we never once had a problem . I would strongly recomend this resort to anyone...We had a great time and can't wait to return next year...

Coral Marien was by far an excellant resort...The grounds were well keep, the rooms clean, food great and the Buffet Restaurant staff were outstanding and I would like to mention a few...Rosa, Penna, & Joel....The nightly entertainment was fantastic...and the Chocolate Friends especially Jorge...were very friendly and outgoing...Overall the experience was great and all the staff at the Coral Marien were great from the Bell Boys, Security(Wilson & Jose), Bartenders(Felepia & Kenny), DJ(Migel), and the Cleaners(Santos)...I would recommend this resort to any one and cannot wait for our next visit...
