We travelled in april 2004 for our honeymoon, we were made very welcome. accomodation is big and airy. we had a Tv, air conditioning and a fan ( the fan was enough)The food was very good, we always found something we liked on the menu, all the restaurants were excellent. It rained for 6 days solid, and the hotel flooded but the staff carried on, it was excellent service. everything was done to make our stay comfortable. I took ill on my last day and the staff and reps were brilliant. We had free towels and bottled water. I cannot fault this hotel. entertainment was good. The trips were brillaint and well managed by the reps ( advise you to use reps trips, some took trips that were booked outside hotel and afew accidents occured..Be warned)
We would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a three star but in our book it should be higher....Thanks villas for a wonderful time...we plan to come back x x

I loved every minute of my holiday, it was by far the best holiday ive been on. Our room was clean and with all the things we needed inside. The pool was cleaned every day.

The staff were all friendly. The entertainment were brilliant, day and night. They were Mosquito, Sugarbelly, Elvin, Giovanny, Tania and Angelo.

I will be returning back shortly after Christmas. Dont let the bad reviews put you off.

we went sept28 2005 ,when we frist got to the hotel we wasnt very happy.but our frist morning we got told alot about the hole place what we could and wat we couldnt do .from there we had a lovly 2 weeks,the food was great,staff was very helpfull and friendly they came on disco tours with us.mosquito, surer- belly,tana,elivs,rambo was all very lovly people.the hotel was very clean and got clean everyday.im going back december 7 2005.

the dominican republic was great i absoultly loved it!i loved the hotel it had lots to do day and night with the animation team (speedy,maria,jenny,rambo,juin,mosquito,victor) they were all fantastic exspecially speedy maria jenny and juin they was all so funny and helpful they plauyed games wiv everyone.speedy maria jenny and juin mad emy holiday well they all did .the hotel is very clean.it gets cleaned every single day its spotless.the food is lovley

the food in the buffet restaurant was very good-best meal of the day was lunch. The grill and fish restaurants were ok but not much choice. The chinese restaurant was nothing special, but acceptable.
Room was basic but clean.
Entertainers were ok.
drinks were very, very strong---and readily available !!

I cannot understand the reviews I have so far seen! I went to the Villas Doradas in March this year (2005) and enjoyed every minute of it. I was not alone as every person I met on this holiday was well pleased with the staff, the friendliness,food, cleanliness, value for money etc. Some of these people had apparently seen these reviews before they went and were very wary as to what they were going to find on arrival but all of them said they could not fault it.
Has the hotel changed hands since these previous reviews we wonder? They were not written recently. I have been to many countries all over the world so am no stranger to travel!I have already booked again to go back in June and I can't wait.

If you are looking for an all inclusive this is not where you want to go. The food is mediocre the accomodations are very cheap and cheap looking. You will be constantly bugged for time share. Take this advice DON'T go here.

i was there a year ago,the service is pretty good,and because is located inside a hotel complex with several hotels around you can walk at nite within the village,is very romantic,during the day you can go and ride a horse and go to the montains or if you prefer you can get a tour arond the whole area of puerto plata,is a lot of fan, and the people are very friendly.
