My husband and I went to the Paradisus over a year ago and we are going back this August. This place is worth every penny. The food is decent and with the variety of food available to you, you are sure to find something you can enjoy. There is top shelf liquor available at the bars. The staff tries very hard to please you, the grounds are well manicured and there is plenty to do if you like swimming, beach parties, shows, casinos, snorkeling, watersports, drinking, etc. This resort is huge and well spread out. If you are not up for long walks to certain areas of the resort they have a shuttle service running continuously to help you get around. The only thing we did not like about this place was getting ambushed on a regular basis by the staff they have strategically planted on the resort that stop you in your tracks and try to peddle their sister resorts on to you. After telling them we are not interested several times a day we eventually stopped worrying about being rude to them and just started to ignore them. Oh yah, when you are ready to have your first drink of the day try the "Coco Loco" (rum mixed with coconut juice) and served in the coconut. Order it early in the day, because they run out of coconuts early. The are very yummy and refreshing.

THIS WAS A VERY LAID BACK VACATION... THE RESORT WAS UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL, THE CARE & ATTENTION TO THE GROUNDS CAN'T BE BEAT. BUT THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO MEET OTHER THIRTY-SOMETHINGS TO HAVE FUN WITH. IT WAS A VERY NICE RESORT, LOTS TO EAT... NOT ALWAYS THE BEST FOOD, BUT YOU CERTAINLY WON'T STARVE... THERE ARE SOME REALLY GOOD PLACES TO EAT. BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PARTY, THIS MAY NOT BE FOR YOU, LOTS OF EUROPEANS... IT WOULD BE GREAT FOR FAMILIES... THE KIDS WILL NOT BE BORED!

I can't say enough good things about Paradisus. I highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in good food, great service, comfortable rooms, a gorgeous beach and quality sitting areas to just sit and talk. Massages on the beach, great entertainment in the evenings, not to mention the casino - watch out for those blackjack tables! :-) We took our 2 and a half year old this year - it was very family friendly!

Hint - tip your servers at the beginning of your trip, they will do everything they can to make your stay a wonderful one!

The resort was generally OK. Comfort was great, beach and pool were splendid, many different restaurants with correct food. Service at the front desk (a man named "Cruz") was rude:

On our last day, we asked to keep our room for 4 more hours (4PM instead of noon) for 40$. When we came back to our room at 2PM, our luggages were gone. It took one hour for our things to get back to our room (had to wait instead of enjoying our last day). When we went for check out, I told the reception we should not pay those 40$ because we didn't get the service we initially asked for. Mr Cruz then answered in a rude way, not acknowledging the hotel's mistake and saying that if we wouldn't pay, we would have to leave the hotel without our suitcases.

That was a bitter end to a trip that was otherwise pleasant.

the food was not as wonderful as the brochures bragged they were. The Mexican restaurant was terrible, the breakfast buffet left a little to be desired BUT the saving grace was our meal at the Romantico (reservations required) - the filet was devine, and the dessert was equally as yummy. So one meal out of 6 - if you enjoy eating on vacation, maybe this resort may be a challenge. The staff are very friendly, adn the facility is kept very clean.

We have been there five times with friends and family. Not perfect, but worth every penny. Staff is extremely curtious and the Kids Club gives the children fun things to do. Great choice of restaurants and the alcohol flows all day and night. We have visited other resorts but few measure up once you have experienced Paradisus Punta Cana.

If you are debating where to go in the DR you must check out the Paradisus. We just got back from there and we had a wonderful time! After reading mixed reviews we were a little nervous, but the Paradisus exceeded all of our expectations! Great service, the people were great although they don't speak much English. The food was excellent at ALL the restaurants and the drinks were awesome. The rooms were clean and air conditioned (try to get a remodled room with a jacuzzi tub, they were awesome!) The pool was great and the beach was great! Snorkling, scuba, sailing and boat trips were all included in the price. Horseback riding as well which was great! This is a true paradise! We saw other resorts and NONE looked as nice as the Paradisus. We have been to several all-inclusive resorts in Mexico as well and Paradisus was by far the best we have been to!
