- From San Jose International Airport To The Hemingway Inn Is Tricky Because Many Roads In San Jose Are Not Marked. From The Airport Follow The Signs And Take The Main Highway East Into San Jose. It Is About 15 Minute Drive. Once In San Jose, Turn Left At The Second Stop Light So That You Are Now Still Heading East On Paseo Colon It Is 4 Lanes Wide. Go A Little Less Then A Mile And The Main Road And Traffic Does A Turn To The Right, Then Left Just After San Juan Dios Hospital On Your Right. You Are Now On Avenida Seguanda, A One Way 5 Lane Road Going East. In Less Then Another Mile, After You Go Down A Hill And Start Back Up Turn Left On Calle 11 Which Is Not Marked, One Block Past The Big Round Coca Cola Sign. You Are Going North Now And Straight Ahead About 4 Blocks You Will See The Largest Building In Costa Rica, The I.n.s. Instrituto Nacional De Seguros National Insurance Building. The Hemingway Is Right Behind It At The Corner Of Avenida 9 And Calle 9. The Road In Front Of The Hemingway Is One Way, Traffic Going To The West. So When You Get The Large Building, You Have To Jog Around The One Way Streets To The Right Of It So That You Approach The Hemingway Coming From The East. Park Temporarily In Front Of The Hemingway And Check In With Your Baggage. We Will Give You A Key To The Gate Of Our Reserved Parking Lot And Show You Where To Park.
