Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel in June 2005. We had read some dreadful reviews about this hotel on Trip Advisor as we'd already booked it we were dreading going!

But we had an excellent time it is remote about 1 hour from Puerto Plata airport and 1 hour 15 mins from Puerto Plata Hospital which i found out unfortunatly after having an allergic reaction to something and spending 3 days of our week holiday in hospital on a drip. And we still enjoyed the short time we had at this resort.

It is a huge resort and the nightlife and evening entertainment is excellent the food is lovely both in the A La Carte restaurants and the Main Buffet.

The rooms were spacious and appart from a few tiny ants in the bathroom (we just sprayed insect repellent) it was really clean the maid was excellent and did a great job everyday!
We left her a few things on the last day to say thankyou...they really work hard and appreciate you doing that for them! (not two singles pushed together as we'd been advised and read on the internet)

Our rep was called Angel he represented Coco Tours and was excellent really helpful both before my hospital visit and after.
The pool is fantastic, were not beach people and only ventured on it once to say we'd been! The sand is brown and we met alot of people with nasty bites on there legs from sand fleas, however we stayed clear of it really and werent even bite once.

We think this is a well appointed clean huge beautiful resort and i'd recommend it to anyone.

Ok so first of all i have to say that once again i have just had the best 2 weeks of my life, back at Bahia Principe san juan for the second time this year but my 4th visit in 3 years. I love this hotel not only the hotel but the workers aswell, they all only to happy to help you. the rooms are large, with nice beds, balcony and bathrooms. you have quite alot of space for clothes etc. take extra hangers.

The food in this hotel is beautiful there is something for everyone. I'm a fussy eater but i never went hungry, the pool is large and of a good standard, has just had a make over...

the beach is beautiful not white sands but golden.

all girls need to watch out for the animation boys most have wifes but they will still try it on. lol bless. have fun but don't fall in love *(you may be heartbroken)* when you get home.

this hotel is emence... i would go back 2moro if i could.

	big resort lots of places to walk
	a bit far away from the city and lots of bugs

The resort was very nice, clean rooms, very attentive staff. We had lots to eat, great buffet all day and lots to drink. I would recomend mosquito spray and after bite if anything to bring. We had a great time there, relaxing, nice weather.

We would not hesitate to return again to the resort. The food was excellent and they carried a great variety. The staff was very nice and helpful.The rooms were very clean. The resort was huge, so we did find that it was a little harder than usual to meet up with people, but a good time was enjoyed by all.

This place is not for everyone. It depends what kind of a vacation you are looking for. If you want to relax by the beach go out for a couple of hours then this is for you. But if you are young and want a variety of people to party with I would choose a different resort. The hotel is beautiful but isolated. The service and the food was great. Our group did not get sick once. The beach was not the best. No white sand and there were black bags of sea garbage everywhere. But other than that it was good. The casino was ok...once they switch dealers on you cash out! Overall I enjoyed my vacation but I don't think that I would return to that resort.

I thought Bahia Principe was amazing. If you look on other sites all you get is people slating it. I thought it was great and im goin back in march due to that. I would reccommend anyone to go on a holiday there. I loved it and im sure you will do too!

This is a large, isolated hotel, which will suit you if you just want to laze around the pool or beach and eat until you drop. However, we enjoy watersports and were disappointed. We had 3 days of showers and they closed the watersports franchise all 3 days. The fourth day was beautiful but watersports remained closed, they said because the director hadn't called in approval to open. Windsurfing is good only for beginners. There was a nice 16' cat, numerous ocean kayaks, 3 sunfish and (rental) motorsports. You are limited to one hour in each sport daily. Horseback riding was along the beach and inexpensive and pleasant, but brief - about 35 min.
There is daily van service (for about $10) to towns a half hour or more away. Excursions are limited due to the hotel's isolation.

Me and 3 friends ages ranging from 18-24 went in Nov 2002 had a great time the staff was excellent, kept everyone busy, we were never bored, between the contests and the entertainment at night we were always on the go, you have your own disco, bars and casino. The food was very good lots of choices and we never got sick. When you go just keep in mind that you are isolated and that only way to get any where is by taxi or bus.

In January of 2002, we went to this Resort with in a group of 22, 6 adults and 16 kids ranging in ages from 16 - 23. We had a great time, lots for the kids to do. The week went so quickly because the entertainment staff kept everyone as busy as you wanted to be. GREAT TIME, we will go back again.
