Aruba has nothing that Cancun has and even the natural bridge is now gone.

I am not the typical complainer. I will always give the benefit of the doubt and understand it is difficult to be perfect for everyone. So understand I am trying to be fare.

My daughter was married on August 27, 2005 on the private island at the Marriott Renaissance in Aruba. We had 92 people fly to Aruba so the pressure was on to make sure that everyone had a great time. Angela Hagedoorn was our wedding planner and she did an excellent job. The Marriott Renaissance in downtown has the best of both worlds. It is within walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shopping. There are so many great things about this hotel. One is that it has its own private beach, with only Marriott guests allowed (you must show your key to get on the boat to the island). The boat comes right into the hotel lobby and picks you up. Renaissance Aruba Beach Resort and Casino is a deluxe resort located in Oranjestad, the heart of the action, where you can find activity from morning until night: shopping, dining, and nightlife. The resort facilities include two casinos, two malls, nearby marina, private swim & snorkel island.

The Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino comprises two hotels. They are Marina Hotel, the center of the resort's nightlife and Ocean Suites, ideal location for family recreation. The Marina Hotel is a 300-room tower across the street from the resort's marina. This part of Renaissance Aruba Resort features the fantastic Crystal Casino; the Crystal Theater with a Cuban stage show at night; restaurants, lounge, SPA centre, street-side pool and sundeck, and the indoor Seaport Mall. The Marina Hotel dock provides access to shuttle boats to the resort's private island.

Ocean Suites are stretch across the shore of the Caribbean Sea. This part of Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino comprises of a children's club, a various pools with swim up bar, the Seaport Casino, and the shopping area with restaurants, cafes and a movie theater. All guestrooms provide a nice view out of balcony or a privacy of a patio, they are equipped satellite TV, Internet access, air-conditioning system, iron and ironing board.

Two fabulous saltwater swimming/snorkeling lagoons, beaches with hammocks and thatched shades, a water-sports center, a casual restaurant and bar, a tennis court, a beach-volleyball net, a fitness center, and a nature trail are located on the private island of the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino.

The dining options of the two hotels include restaurants with international, Argentine, Japanese cuisine, Steak House, Pancake House, specializing in seafood, crab dishes or ice-creams, various beach, poolside bars, cafes and bistros. All guests can stay on either all-inclusive or room-only plans.

Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino is adjacent to downtown Oranjestad and is in 4.75 km from Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA).
