User reviews for Royal Decameron Montego Beach All Inclusive
By Jeff from Arizona • Highly recommend!
Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [9] • Service [9] • Value [10] | Everything! | | Swim up pool bar closing at 5pm. |
This was one of the BEST vacations we have ever taken. We are coming back! The staff was fantastic, from the entertainment crew to the bartenders to the serving staff, and on and on and on. We met some of the nicest people that were on vacation as well, and we still keep in touch with many of them. Food was outstanding, drinks were FABULOUS, it was a beautiful resort.
There are games to get involved in during the day and nighttime hours too! My only and I mean only disappointment was the swim up pool bar closing at 5pm, that should be open much later. Spend the money it is well worth it! Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By Ed from Florida • Never Again
Overall Rating: 1 The resort looks nice and is very clean. The liquor and beer were fine too. Now that the compliments are over lets talk about the rest of the place.
The food was very unexciting. In the main dining room the breakfast was the same every morning. Lunch and Dinner in the main dining room varied slightly but not much. The "snack bar" down by the pool served burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese and fries. That is all they had. The "upscale" restaurant had a very limited menu and was so unappealing we didn't even eat there.
The main dining room and the snack bar operate around each other. This means if one is open, more than likely the other is not. The "upscale" restaurant opens for dinner only and is very small.
The entertainment was O.K. In the late afternoon 3 guys played instruments and sang. They were good but it was the same guys everyday and the same songs everyday. When the 3 guys stopped singing at 8:30pm, the "Mainstage" Opened. The main stage had the best talent but again the same crew nightly. The theme changed and was pretty good I guess. Once the main stage closed at 10:30 the Glitter Club Disco opened. This was a hole in the wall and the music was so loud, you couldn't speak to anyone.
The staff was a mix of kind to down right nasty. The bartenders were slow no matter how busy it was and if you don't leave them a tip each time, you're going to wait forever. No smiles or friendly vibe from these people at all. The front desk was inept. They would "forget" your wake-up call and never apologize. The Manager was useless in helping when I asked him too. He sat me in his Office and listened to me, but no help at all.
The security guards are not employees of the resort. The resort uses a company called Exmil for its security. We had a major problem with a security issue and were astonished to find out that neither the resort nor the Exmil could give a flip. If you are going to this resort be very careful. A badge does not make one honest is all I am going to say.
I would love to share some pictures but seems our cameras(and everything else of value) are missing, Hmmmmmm !!!!! When I read a review that said to watch your toiletries, trust me it was very accurate. Even used stick deodorant.
This was a week of hell for two 40 year olds and one set of elderly parents. Never Again

Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [8] • Value [10] This this was the first real vacation that my husband and i have taken in twelve years without the children. Everything was perfect from the service to all the shopping stores. We stayed for a week, but even my husband agreed that a week is not enough time for a vacation like this. There was so much to do and so little time to do it. Believe us you will always have something to do. We are planning to go back. Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [8] • Value [10] We loved it!! We went in Feb. 19, '05 for a week from Toronto and it was the best week ever. The ocean is beautiful if u love snorkelling - can't go anywhere better for this price. The reef is right on site and for 15 bucks with their own small boat you can go to the big reef. Workers are funny and cool - "yea man" every body says that always. I can't wait to jump in the ocean again. You have to go and try it. If you are going next week on the 24th of December, meet me at the bar beside the stage. It'll be easy to find me, the guy from Canada with the big Hungarian accent. Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [8] This was my first trip to Jamaica, and I've already booked another trip for next year at Royal Decameron. The place was unbelievably clean. The staff was extremely friendly and waited on us hand and foot! We were treated like princesses! It was super close to the airport. I went for spring break with my Mom. My next trip is going to be for spring break 2006 with my sister. This is my last spring break, as I'm graduating from college May 2006. So I said I'm going out with a BANG, so I've chosen my last official spring break destination to be none other than my favorite vacation spot, the Royal Decameron in Montego Bay, Jamaica!!! The view was outstanding, the food was excellent, and my favorite part was the Jamaican Rum!!! You just can't find a pina colada near as good in the states! The weather is perfect and the oceans are simply outstanding! Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By i-dyme from New York • Best Hotel We've been too!
Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [10] I have never enjoyed a hotel stay more than this one. The View is wonderful, the people are extremely kind, professional and generous. The rooms were perfect, clean, with Air conditioning and beach views. It is a home away from home, at a great price. I will definitely be back. Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By kylemelissa28 from Grand Forks, ND • Luxury for less!
Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [10] This was an awesome place to stay. You get to have your own little hut as your hotel room! This means you need only walk 50 feet or less to get to the edge of the Caribbean! No traveling through your hotel. It's all open and spacious, and there's lots of beach and tropical plants to adore and explore. They do some free events as well as some paid ones that aren't too expensive. We also went on a day trip during which we got to walk up a waterfall! It was an awesome time. The entire 6 day/5 night trip - food, lodging, airfare, the whole thing - cost us under $2,000!!! The best honeymoon ever! Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By kerri_2k1_uk from uk • wicked
