Overall Rating: 10 Location [8] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [10] I traveled to Santo Domingo often to work with Infotel and when I could I stayed at the Jaragua. A couple of times it was booked up and the stay just wasn't the same.
The staff went out of there way to make the stay great and to make sure that I had what I needed. I always stayed in the tower. I had rooms over looking the ocean and the city. Actually from the tower all rooms have some view of the ocean.
This is the place to stay if you go to Santo Domingo. Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By latinonyc2002 from nyc & philadelphia • pretty darn good
Overall Rating: 8 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [6] efficient and attentive service, nice big pool although it could use some more shade. airy, cool and comfortable (not humid inside). unless you want to be near a beach it's close to most things woth seeing in la capital. I like this hotela lot been there about three times. On the Garden Rooms,Only thing is I never found were to block the windows for the sunlight, and i did not really saw it. The casino seems to be the biggest one i have gone to in Santo Domingo, allways full. And theres live music, a lot of locals, compare to tourists. You can walk from there to the Cuidda Colonial, about 25 minutes walk. It was very safe the last times i went there. Go to the markets, or el "paseo",wheres there are shopping stores. Hotel room allways clean, needs some remodeling tough. Room service very good, only the taxes are high. But all the hotel i been staying lately are charging too much tax,Mexico,USA. I found that its sister hotel of the Jaragua, Marriot Courtyard,is about $30.00 les ,it is a newer hotel, everything in top shape. they are friendly, very good hotel. Overall Rating: 8 Location [8] • Room [10] • Service [8] • Value [6] | The setting was great!!! | | none |
The setting of the hotel was great. The pool in view of the Carribean Sea and bar was the best, along with having my room in the garden.
I thought the tax on food was ridiculous and the amount of prostitution in front of a nice hotel. It could have been controlled.
If you just like to experience another city- fine, but do not expect view the city and get pretty view unless you know where you are going. Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By NYCTrader from New York, NY • Prostitutes Everywhere!
Overall Rating: 2 Arrived in sdq around 330 am and the hotel had arranged for a car to pick us up. The car on the way to the hotel brokedown in a bad area. Once at the hotel we decided to hit the casino. Once in the door I noticed we were being watched as if we were prey. I then noticed that i was and they were prostitutes. There were around 8-10 following us everywhere. These women were everywhere from the lobby, to Champs, to the pool. The were a welcome at the pool however since the only people there were old men and their wives, gay couples, and even an old man withe his boy toy. The rooms were clean and the food was alright. Their wasn't a sportsbook as advertised though. I wouldn't recommend this place or Santo Domingo. Stay away. Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | |
