Overall Rating: 8  Location [8] • Room [10] • Service [8] • Value [6] This hotel is a little off the beaten path, and so is quiet and peaceful, but still right across the street from the beach. The location is the best part about this hotel. The wait and housekeeping staff were very effecient and friendly, but the front desk staff were just ok. Our room was very clean and nicely appointed, but we could never get the air conditioning to be quite cold enough. The ... [more]hot water took a very long time to get warm. The hotel restaurant was very good. Overall, we chose this hotel because to us, it was the nicest looking one that was in our price range. We were not disappointed, given that. It's really not fair to compare it with the other really expensive hotels on the island. Although it is not really within a comfortable walking distance to downtown (probably a 45 minute walk), the bus runs right in front of the hotel and only costs about a dollar each way. Also, there is a large casino only about a 10 minute walk away. The beach was really nice with plenty of lounge chairs, cabanas, and a beach bar. The beach was clean and the water was nice. We highly recommend taking a tour of the island, as we quite enjoyed seing the rest of the island. [less]

Amsterdam Manor Beach is a quiet resort styled as Dutch colonial village. The hotel caters for couples looking for a quiet romantic getaway. Amsterdam Manor is located a narrow street across pristine Eagle Beach. The Hotel operates both on all-inclusive and room-only basis. Room rate, meals, internet access, fitness and recreation facilities, entertainment, non-motorized watersports and bicycles rental are in all-inclusive rate. Amsterdam Manor Beach offers 72 guest studios and suite with balconies or patios. All rooms are equipped with satellite TV, kitchenettes with cooking facilities, ceiling fans to compliment air-conditioning, in-room safe, iron and ironing board. The resort offers freshwater swimming pool and a kiddie pool, sun patio and physical exercises as Aerobics and Pilates. Kayaks, water bicycles, floats, and snorkeling gear can be rented out from the Amsterdam Manor Beach.
Other watersports, including parasailing and jet skiing are available from independent operators on Eagle Beach. Dinner options include main restaurant, Mango, servicing both breakfast and a la carte lunch and dinner. The dishes feature Caribbean highlights and seafood items. Upper Desk Bar is an open-air outlet with tropical cocktails and snacks. Mango Bar is located on the beach. A Hotel mini market sells groceries and sundries. Amsterdam Manor Beach is located 5 km from downtown Oranjestad and 13 km from Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA).
